Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Nights
Location

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | Expected 36 hours/week | Every Other Weekend
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surgical and Surgical Stepdown unit serving a diverse post-operative population including General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Urology, Oral, Plastics, and Trauma surgery patients
- Perform continuous telemetry monitoring, including the ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Manage complex clinical equipment and interventions including chest tubes, nasogastric tubes (NGT), epidurals, and Capnography
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the EPIC electronic medical records system
- Float between units as required to meet staffing needs across a 23-bed facility
- Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 3–5 patients on Med/Surg and 2–3 patients on Surgical Stepdown
Required Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts RN License
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a single Med/Surg or Telemetry setting
- Minimum of 2 years of travel nursing experience
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Proficiency in management of chest tubes, NGT, epidurals, and Capnography
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience managing arterial lines
- Experience with vasopressor management, including neo-synephrine
- Prior experience with EPIC EMR
