Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown Neuro unit, monitoring and managing patients requiring intermediate-level care
- Perform and interpret ECG rhythm recognition as part of ongoing patient assessment
- Administer and manage medications safely in accordance with facility protocols
- Participate in holiday coverage rotation, expected to work at least every other holiday
- Complete required orientation assessments including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate with an acceptable passing score
- Maintain compliance with annual hands-on competency requirements and facility-assigned modules
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 months of permanent employment experience in IMC/PCU/Stepdown or the specialty being applied for
- Active, permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license — must be in hand at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted
- Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active ACLS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active NIHSS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
- One professional reference required from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment worked within the past 12 months (co-worker references will not be accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- PCU/Progressive Care experience
- Experience within a single location for the required specialty tenure, though not mandatory
