Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 19-bed Neurosurgical ICU serving acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), seizure, and post-surgical patient populations
- Perform frequent and thorough neurological assessments to monitor patient status and identify changes in condition
- Manage invasive intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
- Support and coordinate patient transport and care related to routine CT, MRI, and angiography procedures
- Maintain patient assignments of 2–3:1 ratio; may be expected to float to other ICUs or step-down units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio or compact license eligibility
- Current BLS certification required
- Prior experience in an ICU or critical care setting
- Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and neurological assessment skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Neurosurgical or Neuro ICU environment
- Familiarity with invasive intracranial pressure monitoring devices and protocols
- Experience caring for stroke, SAH, or post-neurosurgical patient populations
- Comfort floating between ICU and step-down unit environments
