Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry monitoring
- Manage a patient population that may include stable/weaning ventilator and trach patients, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, and colostomy/ileostomy care
- Maintain a 4:1 patient ratio, including management of primary patients and insulin drips
- Float to other inpatient units, typically higher acuity, as needed
- Complete an EKG exam during the compliance/onboarding process
- Adhere to facility infection control policies, including masking requirements during flu season if vaccination is declined
Required Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN License required
- BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or PCU setting — firm requirement
- Ventilator and trach experience required
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ICU experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt well to change in a fast-paced environment
