Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts) | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical and Pediatrics (MAP) unit, caring for adult patients with conditions including respiratory illness, stroke, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, sepsis, wound care, and acute alcohol withdrawal
- Float to all inpatient units as needed
- Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:6–7 on night shifts
- Document accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records
- Collaborate with team members and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Adhere to all facility infection control policies, including mandatory masking requirements for staff who decline applicable vaccinations during flu season
Required Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN License required
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- PALS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
- Expected weekly hours: 36 hours (hours are not guaranteed during the orientation week or during holidays when the unit is closed; low census may occur in hour increments as needed)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt positively to frequent changes throughout a shift
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with team and ancillary staff
- Resilient, flexible, and willing to ask questions to support the best possible patient experience
