Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit. This position provides care for adult and geriatric patients requiring progressive care, cardiac monitoring, and management of complex cardiac conditions. The role requires experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, with a 12-hour night schedule and every-other-weekend coverage.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience; Progressive Care Unit or stepdown experience; current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; compact nursing license in hand at submission; required experience with electronic health record charting; demonstrated ability to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, including every other weekend.
- Additional Information: Patient assignments typically include 45 patients. The role supports adults and geriatric patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, chest pain requiring myocardial infarction evaluation, cardiac catheterization needs, and cardiac drip management. Clinical responsibilities may include cardiac telemetry, central line management, blood product administration, chest tube care, noninvasive airway management, insulin drip titration, wound care, and post-cardiac procedure care. Travelers may float between progressive care, telemetry, and medical-surgical units when operationally necessary.
