Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Spokane Valley, WA. The role provides care for progressive care, medical-surgical, respiratory, and overflow patients in a Level III trauma setting. The position includes collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams and care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: One year of true telemetry or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; successful completion of a cardiac rhythm interpretation examination before start.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM7:30 PM or 7:00 PM7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every-other-weekend rotation and one holiday per contract are required.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The role may include care for progressive care and medical-surgical patients throughout the facility. Patient assignments may include a 1:5 ratio for medical-surgical patients and a 1:3 ratio for progressive care patients. Clinical responsibilities include management of high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, peripheral intravenous access, wound care, wound vacuums, drains, nephrostomy tubes, patient-controlled analgesia, central lines, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and selected intravenous medications. Orientation includes classroom training, skills validation, and supervised unit orientation.
