Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nights. This Registered Nurse position provides care for a broad range of medical-surgical patients in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include admissions, discharges, transfers, and care for postoperative, cardiac, renal, respiratory, infectious disease, orthopedic, neurological, and geriatric patients.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Two years of recent Medical-Surgical experience; active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); active Maryland or compact-state Registered Nurse (RN) license; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is not required.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, 36 hours per week, with no call requirement.
- Additional Information: Provides care for patients with congestive heart failure, renal failure, pneumonia, Clostridioides difficile infection, diabetes mellitus, postoperative spinal and brain surgeries, strokes, total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, geriatric fractures, other fractures, and medical overflow. Responsibilities include admissions, discharges, and transfers. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6. Medication competency must be completed with a minimum score of 80 percent. Navy blue scrubs are required. The care setting is acute care.
