Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity 41-bed Cardiac Renal / Medical Surgical Telemetry unit serving patients with conditions including AFib with RVR, CHF, COPD, sepsis, post-ablation, dialysis, and BH/CIWA protocols
- Perform telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation, including passing required telemetry competency assessments
- Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, aminophylline, Cardizem, Tikosyn, and Amiodarone
- Manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, and PIV insertion
- Float within skillset to a sister campus (approximately 8–11 miles away) as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus floats; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible
- May be required to precept students and new hires as this is a teaching facility
Required Qualifications
- Active, current Compact RN License required
- AHA BLS certification required
- AHA ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac / Telemetry experience
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Recent Epic EMR experience required
- Must not reside within 40 miles of the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage high-acuity and rapidly changing patient conditions
- Experience with antidysrhythmic medication administration and titration
- Adaptable, resilient, and collaborative with a strong work ethic
