Contract | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Schedule varies; expected to work every other weekend
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an Acute Cardiology unit in a Med/Surg setting
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions throughout the night shift
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Adhere to holiday scheduling requirements: expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in an acute cardiology or cardiac step-down unit
- Familiarity with night shift workflows in a high-acuity hospital environment
- Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills in a fast-paced setting
