MICU Registered Nurse – Nights

Contract | Night Shift | Every Other Weekend | 36 or 48 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU serving adult patients with high-acuity diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, DKA, GI bleed, cardiogenic shock, substance abuse/overdose, and severe psychiatric conditions
- Maintain a 1:2 or 1:1 patient ratio in the ICU setting, adjusting to 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Medical/Surgical units
- Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing up to 4–5 patients per assignment
- Read and interpret telemetry strips as required for both ICU and float assignments
- Document patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system
- Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present in the ICU 24 hours per day
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN License required
- AHA BLS certification required
- AHA ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience required
- Telemetry competency required; must be able to read telemetry strips
- Must be available to float to Medical/Surgical units as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Level III Trauma Center or large community hospital setting
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR charting system
- Experience caring for patients with substance abuse/overdose or complex psychiatric conditions in an ICU environment
