Job Summary: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Nights (Wausau, Wisconsin). This role supports an intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with fast-paced, high patient turnover, caring for post-procedure and post-operative cardiac patients and medical-surgical overflow. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift (12 hours), 48 hours per week minimum; every other weekend and every other holiday.
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Associate Degree or Certificate (or equivalent required by the role); at least one travel assignment with recent charting experience (at least 1 year recent EPIC charting experience required); must be able to pass EKG test during the first week of hire; minimum experience required: 1 year strong cardiac experience (Cardiac Step Down Unit/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU) and 2 years Intermediate Care Unit/Progressive Care Unit/telemetry experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to all inpatient units as needed.
- Certifications/Training Notes: AHA or ARC accepted for certifications; EKG test must be passed in the first week of hire.
- Additional Information: Charting requires EPIC experience; unit characteristics include intermediate cardiac stepdown care with typical patient ratio of 1:4 and care for conditions such as post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomy, vascular procedures, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, post-procedure cath patients, pacer/defib patients, ablations, acute chest pain/myocardial infarction, and medical-surgical overflow.
