🏥 MAP RN (Med-Surg) Job Breakdown
Shift: 3x12 Nights (19:00–07:30)
Weekly Hours: 36 hrs Guaranteed
Unit: MAP (Medical Admissions Program)
Charting: EPIC
Ratio: Nights 1:6–7
Floating: Required to all inpatient units
🩺 Core Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: ~20 hrs/week
Managing respiratory illnesses, stroke, sepsis, renal failure, diabetes, GI disorders, wound care, neurological conditions, and alcohol withdrawal patients. - Assessment & Clinical Monitoring: ~5–6 hrs/week
Neurological assessments, respiratory monitoring, chronic disease management, and acute condition changes. - Medication & Treatment Administration: ~4–5 hrs/week
IV medications, diabetic management, sepsis treatment protocols, and infection management. - Documentation (EPIC): ~3–4 hrs/week
Charting assessments, interventions, care plans, and discharge planning. - Team Collaboration & Floating: ~2–3 hrs/week
Working with interdisciplinary teams and floating to inpatient units as needed.
📌 Key Requirements
- WI RN License
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- 2+ years acute care/Med-Surg experience
- EPIC experience required
- Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius
🏥 Unit Highlights
- Adult Med-Surg population (travelers do not take pediatric patients)
- Every other weekend and holiday required
- Any color scrubs allowed
- High-acuity medical patient population
- Ideal candidate is adaptable, independent, team-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Low census policy may reduce scheduled hours in 4-hour increments
Best Fit: Experienced Med-Surg RN with strong assessment skills, stroke/sepsis experience, and comfort managing a 1:6–7 night-shift patient load.
