Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry / Stepdown
Location: Wausau, WI
Shift: Days | 3x12s (7:00 AM–7:30 PM)
Contract: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Join a fast-paced Cardiac Telemetry/Stepdown unit caring for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions and post-operative cardiac procedures. This assignment is ideal for experienced cardiac nurses who excel in high-acuity environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiac telemetry and stepdown patients.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, perform detailed assessments, and administer cardiac medications and titratable drips.
- Care for post-CABG, valve replacement, vascular surgery, arrhythmia, CHF, post-cardiac catheterization, pacemaker, ICD, ablation, acute MI, and medical-surgical overflow patients.
- Float to inpatient units within your scope of practice as needed.
Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN License
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum 2 years of IMC, PCU, or Telemetry experience
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU experience
- Experience managing Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required
- At least one completed travel assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent Epic EMR experience
- Must successfully pass an EKG exam during the first week of the assignment
Assignment Highlights
- 44-bed Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit
- Day shift (7:00 AM–7:30 PM)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- Every other weekend and holiday
- Epic EMR
- Any scrub color permitted
- Eligible for up to 36 hours of low census during the contract
