Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across a 12-bed PICU
- Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions including trauma, burn, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, respiratory illness, sepsis, endocrinology, hematology/oncology, and orthopedics
- Maintain patient ratios per acuity: ICU status 2:1, intubated patients 1:1, pediatric status 3:1
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Float to NICU, pediatric medical floor, or Peds ED as determined by patient volumes
- Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri RN licensure
- BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- TNCC certification required
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience
- Ventilator competency required
- At least 1 year of post-orientation experience
- Night shift orientation takes place on day shift; candidate must be available the entire orientation week
- Weekend hours required as determined by the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- Experience caring for trauma, burn, or neurosurgical pediatric patients
- Flexible team player comfortable working across multiple pediatric care settings
