Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
- Float as needed to NICU, PICU, Pediatric medical floor, or Peds ED based on patient volumes
- Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with established guidelines, including applicable state Nurse Practice Act standards
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license; must meet criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri licensure
- BLS and PALS certifications from AHA only required
- TNCC certification required
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience; must be ventilator competent
- At least 1 year of post-orientation experience required
- Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with diverse patient populations including Trauma, Burn, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Surgery, Respiratory, Sepsis, Endocrinology, Hematology/Oncology, and Orthopedics
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to function as a collaborative team player in a high-acuity environment
