Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department with mixed/shared acuity levels at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Perform mandatory phlebotomy and IV placement as required competencies for all RNs in this setting
- Manage and interpret dysrhythmias, administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, continuous IV paralytics, and procedural sedation
- Administer blood products and provide central line care and management
- Manage patients presenting with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and CVA, adhering to isolation precautions as applicable
- Float to other units when census warrants
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered New York State RN license required — must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and IV insertion is mandatory
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and CVA patient management
- Familiarity with block scheduling environments
- Background in high-acuity, combined adult/pediatric emergency settings
