Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit, with potential to float to additional units serving the same patient population
- Monitor and interpret ECG rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
- Complete orientation assessments including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate, achieving an acceptable score within the allowed attempts
- Participate in rotating holiday coverage, expected to work at least every other holiday
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — permanent Ohio license or compact state license required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 12 months of permanent employment experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry
- Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Active ACLS certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Active NIHSS certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
- One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment worked within the past 12 months is required — co-worker references are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Telemetry and ECG rhythm recognition experience in an acute care setting
- Experience working within a large health system or high-volume hospital environment
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and medication administration platforms
